Backstory of Loulousjewelry Part one

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

Welcome back!! Long time no see, when I first launched my website, I wanted to create blog posts all the time but it seems life got a hold of me.

Recently a good friend of mine gave me some inside truth about what my business was lacking... Although the truth can hurt sometimes, what she said was remarkable true. The good friend gave a ton of positive reviews but said my art work lacked a story, it lacked a reason behind what made me, the owner, want to start loulousjewelry. Why I love what I do, so to speak.

After some great thinking about what was said,

I relieazed she was right. I love my work, and I love what I do but not once have I really ever told the story behind it all..

I can remember being young and telling my very "crafty" dad " I want to make something..." "What do u want to make??", my dad would ask.. " I don't know, something...". This has stuck with me throughout my journey.. I once made a purse, entirely out of a pair of old jean pants, then a life size doll out of scrap plywood. It was very creepy I will be honest.. so maybe that's where the creativity started or atleast that's what we'll say.

In April, 2022, I was working as a hostess at a local restaurant... I hated it haha but it did put some money in my pockets, and got my mind thinking.. I had been obsessed with crystals for years prior, learning as much as I could about them.. I was struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with my life as anyone else ( I was literally sixteen girl). and instead of just spending loads of money on a hobby, I decided to turn that hobby into a full-time business, and dream, after spending loads of money, of course.

By late May, I had started my own Etsy shop, selling mainly crystals, which was what I wanted to focus on at the time. I had planned on making jewelry as more of a side thing, to add more items to the shop. Never being that artistic ( I literally cannot draw a decent stick person), I became quit good at wire wrapping, quit fast. After months and months of making jewelry basically twenty-four seven, I began to love it and finally felt like I found something I was good at.

Growing up I participated in quite a few hobbies such as photography, videography, painting, karate, basketball, middle school band... that's right, miss Alissa was infact the real life squidward... Anywho I never really stuck with any the hobbies and my parents always viewed that as a bad thing.. That I "gave up easily" when it came to doing something... muahaha not no more.

LoulousJewelry has aloud me to create the person I have always wanted to be, the creative, crafty and entrepreneurial me. Since beginning the journey I have learned so much patience, met so many new and amazing people, and finally found something I could spend forever doing.

I hope you guys will continue to follow and support me on this fun and crazy adventure. I truly love each and ever piece I ever created and it make my day to know people out there will love them consistently.

Thank you for reading, until next time ( possibly a couple months hehe)
